December 2021
Our Annual Business Meeting Recap
The Fishers of Men had a great year and I am going to give a short recap of the year and share what is happening in 2022.
First I want to thank Gary Ellis and Vern Wiesenberger for their service to the board. Our rules require that they step off the board for at least one year. We also want to welcome Brad Hoium who has become our new club treasurer.
Our new club Board is
- Tim Jewell, President
- Michael Cummins, Vice President, Membership
- Brad Hoium, Treasurer
- Dave Simpson, Outings
- Randy Jordon, Tournaments
We had some of the best outings and
tournaments this year and your participation
was key to their success. We have a new King
Crappie winner (Lowell Borgen) and new Fally
Wally winner (Doug Johnson).
Our tournaments were well attended (as seen above) and a lot of fish were caught.
Our meetings were also great this year because of Cory and Gary finding us excellent speakers. I personally have taken the tips given and increased my daily catch when on the water.
We have some excellent outings and tournaments planned for 2022 and I hope you will join us.
We also had 3 teams that fished the Teen Challenge Fishing Challenge on Gull Lake. Our teams raised over $10,000 in support of the program.
I hope you will join us in making our new year a lot of fun and rewarding as we work with groups like Teen Challenge and Salvation Army.

While I love to go fishing, in the Fall I love to spend time in my deer stand. I enjoy reading my Bible and looking back over past Sermon Notes. Last weekend we had an excellent sermon note on Psalm 2.
At our home we have all my deer stands full of friends. If you would like to join us all you need to do is ask. I have rifles and blaze orange for you and If you have never gone then I will let you sit with me. (once my 5 stands are full then we need to cut it off)
You can see Tim's nice buck and Josh (Vaughn's son) got this nice 8 pointer Sunday morning at 7:16 opening weekend.
