We say goodbye to a friend
Gordy Merck based on the timeline from the family, they believe Gordy passed away on or about Sunday, February 6th in the afternoon.
Gordy has been a member of the Fishers of Men for over 30 years. He was an excellent fisherman, volunteer for the club, a friend but most importantly, he knew Jesus.
Gordy was someone I enjoyed fishing with and I know there are others in the club who enjoyed fishing with him also. I personally did many tournaments, outings and trips over the years and he will be missed. The last outing i did with him was the Spring Outing in 2021.
There is no one I know who fished with more tackle, fishing rods and anything else he needed to make a day on the water a success. Gordy loved to go fishing.
Gordy was a valued member of the club and he will be missed.

We will also be selling Raffle Tickets in support of the Minnesota Teen Challenge Fishing Challenge on June 4th in Brainerd.

February Meeting
Tim opened with a word of prayer
Devotions lead by Vaughn Blackburn
Vaughn started by reading Romans 7:19 "For I do not do the good I want, but the Evil I do not want is what I keep doing."
Vaughn read us a story by Max Lacado and closed with Romans 8:35-39.
Our speaker this month was Jiggin Jim Ryks and he shared many experiences and ideas based on time in the boat.
March Fishers of Men Meeting
Our meeting is this Thursday beginning at 7:00
Location is Lutheran Church of the Master at 1200 - 69th Ave N in Brooklyn Center.
Our Speaker this month is going to be Scott Hanson and will discuss fly tying.

Duane Priors Fundraiser is coming up -"A Taste of Nature"

Date and Time: March 19, 2022 beginning at 5:00 and going to 7:00
Cost is: $15.00 per person or $30.00 for the family (limited to 100)
